NBD, recognizing the impact of global warming and environmental degradation on our climate in recent times, is committed to preserving our local environment. We make grants to organizations and programmes that:
- Help to preserve or revitalize the environment
- Provide education on sustainable practices
- Raise awareness or provide remedies to environmental issues affecting the local communities
Small Business Development
The growth and success of locally owned small businesses is critical to our nation’s economic growth. We are committed to supporting small businesses through programmes that:
- Help to foster a spirit of entrepreneurship
- Help small businesses to grow/expand
- Support the transition to sustainable self-employment
Educational Endeavors and Employment Training
Investing in human capital to improve the quality of our labour force is important for economic improvement. We are committed to developing the skills of the people in communities through programmes that:
- Provide job training for individuals
- Provide continuing education for adults
- Provide youth skills training
- Improve employment opportunities
- Encourage, recognize and reward academic achievement of students
- Enhance the quality of education
- Improve the environment and infrastructure of educational institutions
Social welfare & Health Care
The health of our society plays a vital role in the overall productivity of our labor force. We are committed to supporting social and human service organizations whose programmes provide:
- Care for elderly and less privileged

- Support in curtailing chronic non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and cancer.
Cultural Enlightenment
Our culture makes us unique as a people and the development of cultural arts as an industry creates income generating opportunities for individuals and the country as a whole. We will consider requests from organizations that work to preserve our local culture and develop arts through:
- Access to cultural experiences
- Availability of a broad array of artistic opportunities and venues that reflect the community’s life and culture
- Activities that provide recognition or exposure for cultural arts and artist
- Cultural educational programmes
Sports Development
NBD understands the social-economic benefits of a thriving sports industry. We will consider requests from organizations that work to develop sports through:
- Training programmes
- Organized sporting events and activities
- Improvement of sporting facilities and conditions
- Revitalization of under-performing sports
- Initiatives that aim to broaden participation of youth in sports
NBD grants donations and sponsorships at its sole discretion. The Bank is under no obligation to grant donation or sponsorship funding to any applicant.
