At a press conference, NBD presented a cheque of $31,000 to DFC for the 2011 Carnival activities. This represented just part of NBD’s sponsorship towards this years Carnival celebrations.
NBD will be contributing:
- $21,000 towards the building of costumes for the Carnival Queen contestants
- $10,000 towards carnival in Portsmouth
- $10,000 towards the NBD Flag Wavers
- $3,000 towards a contestant for the Princess Show.
Additionally, the Bank will present the Best costume Builder with a trophy and a cheque of $5000.
The award to the Best costume Builder is our effort to motivate the art of costume building in Dominica and to demonstrate our appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
We will also feature a corporate float in the opening Parade for Carnival on the 12th of February 2011.
